Welcome! This is the class blog for the Spring 2016 ARTH/HIST 4386 Introduction to Museums class at the University of Memphis.

GOAL
The blog for this course is an extension of and preparation for in-class discussions. We are also excited to share our on-going research about museum-related topics with museum professionals and the general public!

STRUCTURE AND SCHEDULE
The class will be broken up into three groups 1, 2 and 3. Each week one group is responsible for one blog post. There are a total of twelve class sessions on the calendar in which a blog post is assigned, thus each group will be responsible for a total of four blog posts for the semester. The assigned group for each week must publish a post by the Friday before Monday's class. Assignment dates may be found on the class syllabus.

BLOG POST REQUIREMENTS
Each post must be at least 500 words. While blog posts generally tend to be rather informal, use complete sentences in traditionally structured paragraphs. Please spell check all posts before publishing. If you reference a published journal article, news article, online blog, etc., please provide citations (citations do not add to word count). There are four types of blog posts you will be asked to create:
1. Review of an online resource
2. Critical reading response
3. Mission statement review
4. Site visit response
